The LT-42WX70's superb digital photograph reproduction performance is achieved not only with the panel's wide colour space but also with the technologies that back up picture quality such as the engine. The same can be said for video reproduction, always ensuring accurate colours and smooth movement free of noise that match the video sources, including film-like reproduction of home cinema applications.
Wider Colour Space for Video
A colour space that is wider than an HDTV is featured and the user can select a colour space to match the source. Refer to the Photographs section for more details on wide colour spaces.
New DynaPix HD Picture Engine
Real Bit Driver with 12-bit (x RGB = 36-bit) Processing
The new DynaPix HD Picture Engine has been further refined to guarantee the reproduction of accurate and natural colours. The Real Bit Driver offers 12-bit (x RGB=36-bit) processing performance, enabling up-converting of lower bit-rate signals such as 8-bit HD broadcasting and DVD signals to 12-bit Deep Colour signals, ensuring smoother gradation regardless of the quality of the original source signal.

To compensate for colour bleed and colour drift that can be caused by gaps in the source colour format and the LCD's colour space, the Chromaticity Point Conversion Circuit in the engine matches colours so that they come out deeper, more natural, and accurate to the original source.

Intelligent Clear NR (Motion-estimated Hadamard 3D NR)
Intelligent Clear NR realizes effective noise reduction without motion blur. It detects picture noise of each 16 frequency areas in real-time and adjusts the amount of noise reduction as needed without adverse affect on the original picture.

3D NR processing is available even for motion pictures.
Intelligent Colour Management
Newly developed algorithm emulates the way people naturally raise visual sensitivity for those colours in an object that catches their attention. Intelligent colour Management analyzes the colour distribution in each frame of the input signal in real time to perform high-level processing for those areas that catch the attention. This creates images with more realistic colours and textures, adding a more dimensional feel.

100Hz/120Hz* Clear Motion Drive III
The 100Hz/120Hz* Clear Motion Drive III effectively reduces motion blur in LCDs, helping to make images with rapid movement clearer and smoother via a high-precision interpolation algorithm. The driver also utilises a 3D real time, motion-estimated Hadamard noise reduction system that eliminates noise while maintaining the realism and sharpness of the original picture for both 50Hz (PAL) and 60Hz (NTSC) signals.
*120Hz scanning applies for NTSC broadcasting system.
