New JVC Full HD LCD Monitor Targeting Digital SLR Users
The LT-42WX70 is the first of JVC's new genre in flat panel display design called the XIVIEW (sai-view) brand that includes a super slim monitor with a colour space wider than that of the typical HDTV. In developing this unique LCD monitor, JVC focused not only on ensuring the breathtaking quality of full HD video images on the screen but also on the faithful reproduction of the colours, details, texture, nuances and special ambience that only high-definition digital SLR photographs can offer. As a result, JVC has succeeded in developing an exceptional display device that accurately reproduces the superb quality of HD video and stills. Today, the audio-visual world is entering into a new stage where users have a broader choice of sources, ranging from the packaged media of DVDs and Blu-rays to videos and stills obtained on the Internet as well as personal libraries of content recorded by digital cameras and camcorders. By innovatively designing the monitor and focusing on picture quality, JVC has created a display device perfectly suited to the demands of this new stage that allows the user to “Show Your True Colours” on a 42-inch screen.

“X(new or yet undiscovered) Images can be Viewed”.
The first letter “X” in the XIVIEW 
brand name suggests, “new” or “undiscovered” (e.g. generation X) and symbolises JVC's desire to move beyond existing conceptions of conventional televisions and towards the creation of a display device capable of delivering high-definition still images and video reproduction as never before experienced. The second letter “I” denotes “image” and together, “XI” symbolises “new or yet undiscovered images” — when “VIEW” is then added, the newly created brand name represents: “X (new or yet undiscovered) Images can be Viewed”.

The LT-42WX70 is a winner of the best imaging products of 2009 voted on at the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) General Assembly. The award citation reads:
“JVC’s LT-42WX70 is a whole new genre of TV, designed for users who wish to more fully enjoy viewing photographs taken on digital SLR cameras. In developing this unique TV with 96% AdobeRGB colour gamut, JVC focused not only on ensuring the breathtaking quality of full HD video images on the screen, but also on the faithful reproduction of the colours, details, texture, nuances and special ambience that only high-definition digital SLR photographs can offer.”
