The Enclosure

For the EX systems and the SX-WD5, JVC has housed the Wood Cone Speaker in an enclosure made of wonderfully natural materials, taking greater advantage of its acoustic characteristics. In addition, the solid cherrywood enclosure gives a touch of class to the system.

The wooden enclosure is carefully finished with an 11-step process of painting and sanding, and its baffle board is 15mm thick. The use of OFC for internal wiring and banana plug-compatible screw-type speaker terminals also contribute to sound quality.

Larger Enclosure (EX-A3)

The EX-A3 features increased enclosure size and larger speaker duct diameter than the previous model, which improves the sound pressure level by +1.5dB at 70-250Hz, resulting in deeper bass.

Wooden Sound Absorbents (EX-A3)

The sound absorbents made of wooden chips (patent pending) have greatly improved high-frequency sound, resolution, and sound separation, as well as giving overwhelmingly lively sound.
